An Education is a 2009 British coming-of-age drama film based on British journalist Lynn Barber's memoir of the same name. The film was directed by Lone Scherfig, with screenplay by Nick Hornby. It stars Carey Mulligan as Jenny, a bright schoolgirl, and Peter Sarsgaard as David, the charming older man who seduces her.
